ABOUT JOINT OPERATIONS BRANCH:
The Papua New Guinea Defence Force specifically serves to defend PNG against attack, and maintain integrity of its sovereign land, air and marine border. In the event of civil emergency, PNGDF plays a vital role providing assistance in security, humanitarian and disaster relief. Nation building and international obligations are also core assignments of PNGDF. Joint Operations Branch ensures that these core tasks of PNGDF are achieved through planning and deploying PNGDF personal to execute those tasks.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Planning of operations and deployment of PNGDF personnel to mission areas.
• Monitoring and controlling of PNGDF operations both domestically and internationally.
• Monitors and controls troops in operations.
• As first responder to humanitarian and disaster tasks, JOB assumes the responsibility as planner to execute and achieve direction from the National Government.
