ABOUT THE RESERVE FORCE BRANCH;
Reserve Force (RF) will be one of the Branches of the PNGDF that will be responsible for the provision of reserves to the regular forces in operations and peacetime duties. The Branch will also be engaged in nation building through its civic actions programs and engaging with the National Youth Programs and School Cadetship schemes in order to provide leadership training, life skill training and instil discipline to our bulging youth population so they become our future leaders with a disciplined and patriotic mindset.
RFB has its functional headquarters at Murray Barracks and will have five (5) regional units around PNG.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
• Provide reserves to the regular forces during operations and peace time
• Nation building through Civic Action Program
• Assisting and Coordinating National Youth Development Programs
• Assist in running school cadetship program in schools
